I recently retired from a rewarding career in healthcare and now live in Fernandina Beach, Florida with my husband, Jim, and our adored four-legged companions.
My adventurous spirit and a desire to learn new things began around the age of four when I climbed to the top of a mature weeping willow tree and clearly had no plan to get down, which nearly caused my mother to have a heart attack.
Career opportunities for both me and my husband took us to Colorado where we lived for twenty-one years. It was in the majestic Rocky Mountains that I truly began to recognize the beauty of nature and the thrill of adventure as I immersed myself in numerous outdoor sports and activities.
After moving to sunny Florida, I found that its alluring landscapes, rich history, and vast shoreline was the perfect time and place to start my blog, “Adventure with Purpose”.
My mission is to explore the hidden treasures of the area and share the journey with those looking for fun and adventure in hopes the reader will join in, stay active, and enjoy the experiences with their family and friends.
Also, I am currently writing my memoir where I recount a tumultuous time in my twenties. The story follows the journey of two best friends who display determination and courage to triumph over tragedy.
When not writing I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, running and hiking, gardening, outdoor sports, and finding the next adventure.
I am a member of the Amelia Island Writers Advisory Committee and the Women of Nassau Board.
